The food was delicious and went down really well with participants. I know you described them as 'old favourites ' but they were done really interestingly.

Our Sandwich platters are a popular choice for a working lunch… and understandably so. There is no excuse for making a poor sandwich. All you need is an imaginative selection of home baked breads, fresh salad, and high quality, unprocessed, freshly made filling fillings. It is the simplest thing to get right ! We know, because every day we do just that.
And did you know….
Sandwich Facts : 6 chicken sandwiches are eaten every second, and…the record for most people making sandwiches simultaneously is 607 and was achieved by British Sandwich Association (UK), in Manchester, UK, on May 14, 2013
Food historians generally attribute the origin of the ‘sandwich’, as we know it today, to John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich. The aristocrat was said to be fond of gambling and, as the story goes, in 1762, during a 24 hour gambling streak he instructed a cook to prepare his food in such a way that it would not interfere with his game. The cook presented him with sliced meat between two pieces of toast. Perfect ! This meal required no utensils and could be eaten with one hand, leaving the other free to continue the game.
Sooo….whilst this way of presenting food had been around for centuries, the Earl’s partiality for this easy to eat construction of bread with a filling popularised the idea and led to it being called a ‘Sandwich’ from then on…
